It is very hard to express the magnitude of the help that the WPA has been to my poker development. WPA has given me many tools to help me along the way.
Through the years there have been so many women in WPA who have coached me, always cheered for me and others, who have been an example for me and quite honestly, simply inspire me!!
The goal of WPA to “bring more women into the poker world” and showing us we can achieve great things, is what drew me to WPA in the first place. There have been many great memories made while working for this common goal.
I love that WPA is a non profit and helps with the charity, Poker Gives.
The women who are on the board of the WPA, the Advocates and other women who give so much of their time are all so dedicated to this cause. It makes being a female in this male dominated poker world, a little easier to navigate.
It was such an honor and surprise to be given the Rising Star Award for 2019. It is my hope to be able to live up to this award and accomplish half as much as so many of the ladies in the WPA. Many of my personal goals are not only accomplished on the felt, but also in helping to grow more women in poker!
If you are thinking about joining the WPA, becoming an Advocate or Volunteering your time to a poker organization I highly recommend the WPA. You will get out so much more than you put in and will make so many lifelong friends along the way!!”
